Basketball courts in and around Silver Spring Neighborhood Center have been the connective tissue for multiple generations of Westlawn Gardens residents.
From seniors to youth, the indoor and outdoor courts are a gathering place to blow off some steam, to connect with your friends and to develop long-standing multi-generational relationships that can have a positive lasting impact.
Deferred maintenance and wear and tear had finally caught up with the indoor basketball court at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. It was time to imagine a fresh look.
In partnership with the Pat Connaughton Foundation and a diverse mix of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters, the team at Abundant Philanthropy led a successful fundraising campaign that resulted in the creation of Connaughton Courts at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center.
The success of this campaign has been a springboard for two additional capital improvement projects - the creation of a STEM/eSports/computer lab and a renovated fitness center.
"Abundant Philanthropy has been a tremendous partner leading fundraising efforts for our annual campaign and special projects." Devin Hudson, Exec. Dir. at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center
